Showcase Feedback from Ginnie Thorner

To the students....
Thank you to the year 5/6 team who created the Christchurch dance. You performed with great focus and because you took the work seriously the audience were amazed by your ability and images.
For me, the best test of great dance is after I have had some time to think. These hours later many images from your work pop into my head.  Your movements and images were strong and your message for each section was really clear. These were moving images (emotionally.)
Your work tonight was outstanding and by working in creative dance, you are creating art works that few children in Canterbury are doing. This makes you leaders of this work.  Congratulations!
I hope you have fabulous holidays.
Ginnie

What an amazing performance. I am so proud of this class they delivered an amazing representative expressive dance. The excitement and smiles reflect the feelings and hard work put into 'our' part of a wonderful showcase of the Arts: Dance.

Showcase Our dance story tells......

The arrival of the Maori.

Through the rough, crashing waves of the South Pacific, the WAKA paddles on through to the calm waters and onto the shore of Te Wai Pounamu.

The people build, they go to war they rise and so Maoridom in begins.
Aue

The students have depicted this story through dance. You will be filled with pride as you watch them express their ideas on stage. It looks amazing.

Black clothing to be worn.
