Chloe's Europe Trip:

Hello,

The flight was 17 hours to get here from Christchurch to Dubai.

I am currently in Dubai just waiting to board my flight to Paris.

It has been so hot here with the temperature getting to 47 degrees on one of the days.

We have done a desert safari where I rode a camel and got a photo with a falcon named Muffin. It is their iconic bird.

There was belly dancing and yummy food.

I also got a henna tattoo on my left hand.

We have been to Aquaventure water park which was amazing. I rode on many hydroslides. My favourite one was the rapids and the plunge. I have kept a scrap book with information that I will bring back to school on my return.

We also have been up the Burj Al Khalifa which is the tallest building in the world. We stopped at the 126 floor for the viewing platform.

I will send another email from Paris when we arrive there.

Attached are a couple of photos for your to see.

Good afternoon from Holland,

Thank you very much for the birthday wishes from the class.

So far we have travelled from Dubai to Paris where we spent 4 days. We have seen many things including the Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum where the Mona Lisa is. It is much smaller in person that I thought. There were very big crowds waiting to see it so I had to wait a long time to get to the front for a good picture.

We also went to Disneyland which was amazing. I had my face painted and the haunted house was my favourite ride. The house looked like an abandoned house in a movie.

We have then driven to Best in Holland where my dads family are. We have stayed with my grandfathers brother and his partner Anny. They have been so lovely and I have had two parties for my birthday with different parts of the family.

We have visited a town called Kinderdijk where there are many mills. They are used to move water around the canals and creeks where they farm. The windmills are very big. We went inside one that a man and wife lived in with 13 children in 1913 but it was built in about 1700.

Today we went to a very old gothic church which they started building in 1350 and finished in 1550. We also rode on a boat in canals that run underneath the city of Binnendieze through tunnels.

We will drive to Germany tomorrow. It is only a short drive of one and a half hours.

I will email again with another update from Germany.

From Chloe
