Character Day

Welcome to book week.

Mrs Fowley blogging as new to this event:  My first character day parade at St Albans. Certainly not dampened by the terrible weather, in fact the opposite. I was completely blown away by the effort of character costumes, a real display of excellence by my class, GO ROOM 26. I was so proud of you.
I simply could not choose 2 winners. So.... here's my comments for the finalist.

Lets start with the Simpson's. An outstanding effort by all characters. Are they brave or just plain crazy? Both! and we all loved it!!!
Thank you boys you made our day. I must congratulate the visionary Archie Simpson who led the cause. The details and the likeness of all your characters was simply brilliant.

Maggie: you were superb, so cute with that dummy in your mouth, and the way you embraced the character all day! Talk about 'in role'. I was most impressed by the the prep you must have undertaken to pull off this triumph. Working all week making the paper mache head, gluing on foam square based prisms for hair! WOW! and then with the finer details  ..... YES FOLKS A NAPPY, Huggy indeed!  Archie, we are lucky to have you in our room,  always bringing fun, surprise and laughter into our day.

Marge: Your hair was gobsmackingly huge, the sea of bright blue against your yellow skin and green dress. That small red ball necklace detail was the finishing touch on an incredible costume.
Bravely wearing that dress for a long and very cold day Jake. Awesome Jake. You were every bit the lovely lady that is Marge Simpson, she would have been so impressed with the likeness.

Bart: Tom pulled this boy off to a tee. You looked just as cheeky as Bart himself. I really should have made you write out lines on the board, just to reflect Bart's typical school day. I loved the way you compared similarities, to yourself  and your character. Your yellow skin and spiky hair was a vision of hours hair and makeup. I hear your wonderful mum didn't have time for breakfast! "Bless ya Mum" Thanks for the efforts he looked amazing. The skateboard adding that finishing touch.

Lisa Simpson: wow the eyes that hypnotise. The glasses where a stroke of genius. Another very brave lad facing the long cold day in a dress!  Very impressive Charles. The yellow socks for arms and legs and the contrasting green dress  just looked fantastic. Well done Lisa
